Vestavia Police Officer Injured By Drunk Driver
A Vestavia police officer is recovering from injuries sustained when a drunk driver his his patrol car Sunday.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - A Vestavia Hills Police Department officer is recovering from injuries he sustained when a drunk driver crashed into his patrol cruiser Sunday night. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of southbound Montgomery Highway near McGuire Road.
VHFD transported the officer to UAB Hospital, where he was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The officer returned home yesterday. A passenger in the suspect vehicle also suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries
Investigators obtained felony warrants on Paul Eidson, 26, of Warrior, for two counts of assault first degree-DUI (Bond total of $20,000). Eidson has been transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
