Vestavia School Board Honors Staff Members
Vestavia Hills City Schools staff members were honored during December's board meeting for their recent achievements.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Several Vestavia City Schools staff members were recognized at the most recent school board meeting for accomplishments thus far this schools year.
Ten Vestavia Hills City Schools bookkeepers recently graduated from the Alabama Association of School Business Officials’ Local School Financial Management Certificate Program. The program was offered through The University of Alabama’s College of Continuing Studies. The yearlong program provided bookkeepers with advanced training in accounting, school law, budgeting and financial reporting, and the use of technology in financial management.

Also honored by the school board was Vestavia Hills City Schools Director of Technology, Keith Price, who was recently awarded the designation of Certified Technology Education Leader by the Consortium for School Networking. To earn the designation, Price completed a rigorous examination process identifying ten skill areas that educational technology leaders must possess in the 21st century. Fewer than 20 people in Alabama hold this certification, according to CoSN.
