Vestavia School System Honors Two Employees
Two Vestavia Hills City Schools employees were recognized by the board this week.
VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The Vestavia Hills Board of Education Monday night took time to recognize two school system employees for recent awards and honors.
Michael Sinnott, an English and AP Language teacher at Vestavia Hills High School, was recently named to the "Final Four" being considered for Alabama Teacher of the Year honors. Sinnott was named Vestavia Hills High School Teacher of the Year in 2019 and Vestavia Hills City Schools Secondary Teacher of the Year in early 2020.
Whit McGhee, Vestavia Hills City Schools' Director of Public Relations, was named Alabama Communicator of the Year by the Alabama School Public Relations Association. McGhee also received two awards from the National School Public Relations Association for a 2019-2020 Teachers of the Year video and the school system's 2018-2019 Annual Report.
