Vestavia Schools To Reopen As Scheduled This Week

Vestavia Hills City Schools will reopen to students Wednesday as scheduled, continuing safety protocols.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Although some school systems in the state have opted to delay welcoming students back to campuses after the winter break, Vestavia Hills City Schools will reopen as scheduled Wednesday.

Traditional and remote model students will remain in their first semester assignments through the end of the semester on January 15. The second semester begins on Tuesday, January 19, according to a release from the school system.

"Students and staff will still be expected to wear face coverings, wash hands regularly, check each day for the symptoms of COVID-19, and practice good hygiene," the release said. "These habits helped to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our schools during the fall and will help us ensure a safe environment for students this winter and spring."
