VHHS Freshman Serves As Ambassador For Diabetes Walk
Vestavia Hills High School freshman Ben Harwell was selected as Ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's One Walk event.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - More than two dozen Vestavia Hills students have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and their cause has been highlighted during the month of November through Diabetes Awareness Month, with one student in particular thrust to the forefront of that cause.
Vestavia Hills High School freshman Ben Harwell was selected as Ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s One Walk event in Birmingham November 4 at Railroad Park.

Faculty and staff members from several schools participated in the event, and Vestavia Hills Elementary East and West were both highlighted as top school fundraisers for donating more than $14,000 to the JDRF.
