• APD names officer who killed woman in downtown standoff (alaskasnewssource.com) — Anchorage police have identified Officer Misha Carlson as the officer who fatally shot a 53-year-old woman during a tense standoff at a downtown residential building on Aug. 18. Investigators say the woman pointed a gun toward officers and bystanders before Carlson fired. The shooting, Anchorage's seventh officer-involved incident this year, is under review by state prosecutors and APD Internal Affairs.
