Here are the top 3 stories today in Anchorage:

  1. When Dave Bronson first came into office, his main priority was to resolve the homelessness crisis in Alaska. After further research with his team, they made the executive decision to pivot and focus on the Port of Alaska. Rebuilding and modernizing the Port became the chief focus of his administration. Bronson stated that he is not interested in scoring any political points. His main focus is on the future of the Port and securing food security for the state. (Must Read Alaska)
  2. A man died in a hospital days after he was assaulted in downtown Anchorage. Last Saturday, Anchorage Safety Patrol found 44-year-old Carl McGeary unresponsive outside on the 700 block of West Fourth Avenue. He was taken to a local hospital and sadly passed away due to his injuries. Detectives who have been working on the case have identified 21-year-old George Murfitt as a suspect. He has been arrested on a charge of manslaughter. (Anchorage Daily News)
  3. STOMP is finally returning to Anchorage starting next week! It fuses high-voltage dance, music, and theatre into one cohesive and electrifying rhythm. Originally, STOMP started as a street performance over 20 years ago. Today, it has become an international sensation. Make sure you go grab tickets before they all sell out! (Broadway World)
