Here are the top three stories in Anchorage today:
- STOMP has kicked off its 28th year this week with five straight nights of shows in Anchorage. Starting each night with their best-known routine, ‘Brooms,’ the shows are running now through Feb. 6. Check out the Broadway sensation at the Performing Arts Center in downtown Anchorage, presented by the Anchorage Concert Association. (Anchorage Press)
- An Anchorage man was arrested for making terroristic threats at the Palmer's Mat-Su Hospital in Palmer on Tuesday. At around 4:55 pm, police responded to a disturbance call at the hospital and found that 53-year-old David Filiarault had threatened to drive his truck through the lobby and into the receptions desk. Filiarault was taken into custody and was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he is being held without bail. (Alaska Native News)
- Anchorage School Business Partnerships are calling for volunteers to support local schools. According to a press release by The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, they are hoping to match businesses with schools requests. Those interested can support efforts like student recognition or partner on service-learning projects and should reach out to Colette Moring for more information. (Press Release Desk)

As the Anchorage Police Department celebrates and bids a happy retirement to Ken McCoy, APD’s first African American Chief of Police, they realize that their department has come a long way in its 101-year history. - Anchorage Museum's Feb. Virtual Artist in Residence is Theresa Woldstad (Kootenai/Coast Salish). Studying art as well as biology and fisheries management, Woldstad became the third generation in her family to work with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather.
