University Of Alaska Anchorage: ALEKS Test Is Now Proctored

ALEKS placement test for Mathematics now includes proctoring through Respondus. This
is a statewide update to improve placement accuracy and student success. Other ALEKS
PPL configurations will remain the same. Through the virtual proctoring format, students
may complete the placement test at any time. Students will continue to be limited
to a maximum of three hours per test and a maximum of five tests per year.

Students may complete the ALEKS by either: 

Students who only have access to a Chromebook and who cannot come to campus for proctoring will need alternative accommodations. Please contact

The Office of First Year Student Advising & Success has updated the First Year 101 page to reflect these changes (see "How do I take these exams") and created an ALEKS: Getting Started Guide with step-by-step instructions.
