Since last December, IT Services has been hard at work in the UAA datacenter replacing
power and cooling systems that were in critical need of replacement. As part of this
effort IT Services has also been repairing some lingering damage from the 2018 earthquake
while improving resiliency for future events. The migration to this new equipment
is scheduled to occur over the Nov. 5 weekend. This will include a planned internet
and network outage overnight both the evening of Nov. 5 and 6.

UAA internet access and network services will not be available during the following

Impacted services include local network connectivity at the UAA Anchorage campus;
between UAA, UAF and UAS; and to and from the internet. This outage will also impact
internet connectivity to and from community campus locations, but will not impact
communications within their local campus networks. Internally hosted systems at UAA
including websites will also be offline. You can track the status of UAA hosted services
at our status page.

UA-wide and Cloud services such as Banner, Blackboard/Canvas, UAOnline, Zoom, Google
and Microsoft services will not be impacted as a result of these migrations. You can
track the status of these services and more at OIT’s status page.

We appreciate your patience and support as we work to improve the reliability of these
technology services to the UAA community.

Sincerely,Bill JacobInterim Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services
