• East Cook Inlet razor clam fishery remains closed as populations reach historic low (alaskapublic.org) — Razor clam digging at Clam Gulch will remain shut down through at least spring 2027, as biologists report adult clam numbers at historic lows on the east side of Cook Inlet. Surveys show Clam Gulch’s population is more than 85% below the threshold to reopen, with habitat loss and poor young-clam recruitment to blame, so diggers are being steered to West Cook Inlet beaches instead.
