• Kenai police report no injuries after truck hits post office (kbbi.org) — A pickup truck crashed into the lobby wall of the Kenai Post Office Tuesday afternoon, but no injuries were reported and the building stayed open for business. Kenai police say the driver’s foot slipped from the brake, causing the collision that damaged both the interior and exterior walls. Caution barriers now surround the affected lobby area while repairs are arranged.
   

• Drivers in Kenai Peninsula Borough see lowest diesel gas at $6.47 in week ending Oct. 3 (scalaskanews.com) — Diesel prices around the Kenai Peninsula Borough recently bottomed out at $6.47 per gallon at one local station, with the boroughwide average at $6.59. That’s slightly above the statewide diesel average, reflecting ongoing impacts from global oil disruptions and refinery issues. Prices can change quickly, so local drivers may want to compare stations in Kenai, Soldotna, Homer and nearby communities.
