• Ketchikan loses internet for a day because of vandalism in British Columbia (wrangellsentinel.com) — Ketchikan residents and businesses lost internet for much of May 4 after vandals in rural British Columbia repeatedly cut a Telus fiber line feeding the city. The outage crippled card processing for downtown shops, gas stations, and groceries, but service was restored by late afternoon. A nearly finished new fiber route from Prince Rupert to Vancouver should soon add crucial redundancy.
