• Alaska Air National Guard responds to 2 plane crashes, rescues 2 pilots (alaska-native-news.com) — A pilot was rescued by Alaska Air National Guard crews after a Cessna 170 crashed near Skwentna, about 80 miles northwest of Anchorage. Guard teams also aided another pilot after a separate crash near Palmer, and officials are urging aircraft owners to install properly registered 406 MHz emergency locator transmitters to speed future rescues.
