• Apache Junction City Hall Campus Achieves DarkSky Designation (roselawgroupreporter.com) — Apache Junction’s City Hall campus has earned an official DarkSky International Urban Night Sky Place designation, recognizing major upgrades to more than 200 outdoor lights and a new Light Management Plan. City leaders say the project is a model for expanding dark-sky-friendly lighting, with goals for full campus compliance within 10 years and stronger requirements for new development citywide.
   

• Splash pads and community pools in Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, and other parts of the Valley (abc15.com) — Families in Apache Junction can cool off at Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center and the Flatiron Park splash pad, with specific seasonal hours laid out for each.
