• Canyon Lake drawdown project begins in September (yourvalley.net) — If you boat or fish north of Apache Junction, expect major changes at Canyon Lake this fall: SRP and federal officials will drop the lake 54 feet starting Sept. 16 for dam safety inspections. All ramps and access points close Sept. 8 and will remain shut for roughly 16 weeks to protect public safety during the drawdown.
