• How to prevent lesser-known causes of wildfires - Cave Creek / Carefree Independent (yourvalley.net) — Carefree residents are being urged to watch out for surprising fire hazards like oily rags, mulch piles, and manure that can spontaneously combust, especially in our rural desert landscapes. After Carefree Fire Station 821 quickly stopped a brush fire sparked by staining rags, fire officials shared simple steps—like drying rags flat and hosing down mulch—to reduce wildfire risk around local homes and properties.
