Chandler launches 'Swim Safe 48' program at all city pools (abc15.com) — Chandler has rolled out new safety rules and features at all city pools this summer, including height requirements and a color-coded wristband system. At Hamilton Aquatics Center, some river features are gone but new slides, a rock wall, rope swing, and floating platform now serve swimmers over 48 inches who pass a swim test, following last year’s tragic drowning. 
2. Expired butter, barbacoa among 22 violations at Phoenix restaurants (azcentral.com) — Two Chandler restaurants, AZ Pho and Grill on 54th Street and The Living Room Wine Cafe & Lounge on Queen Creek Road, were among five metro Phoenix spots cited for 22 health violations the week of May 4. Maricopa County inspectors flagged issues like improper dishwashing and unsafe food storage while also noting that hundreds of other restaurants still earned “A” ratings.
3. Students from the Metropolis of San Francisco Graduate from HCHC (thenationalherald.com) — One of this year’s Hellenic College-Holy Cross graduates hails from Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Chandler, highlighting a local connection to a major West Coast Greek Orthodox milestone. The Metropolis of San Francisco celebrated 15 graduates and noted record enrollment, backed by decades of scholarship support that helps students like Chandler’s Andrew Moreno pursue ministry and academic work.
4. Street League Skateboarding announces Tempe ‘Takeover' event at Mullett Arena (abc15.com) — A major Street League Skateboarding “Takeover” is coming to Tempe’s Mullett Arena on August 29, and one of the featured pros is Chandler native Dashawn Jordan, co-founder of Faces Skate Shop. The event will showcase Arizona skate culture with a custom course, big-name skaters from across the Valley, and tickets going on sale May 28 at 6 a.m.
