• Chandler plane crashed just after departure, witness audio says (azcentral.com) — A small plane crashed shortly after takeoff in Chandler near McQueen and Queen Creek roads on July 28, killing the pilot but sparing anyone on the ground. Federal investigators are now examining the aircraft, pilot records, and flight conditions, and are asking Chandler-area witnesses or anyone with video to contact the NTSB as they work toward a preliminary report.
   

• Chandler Little Leaguers are Arizona State Champions, now headed to regional tournament (abc15.com) — Chandler’s National Little League 12U team just clinched the 2026 Arizona state title and will represent the state at the West Region Tournament in San Bernardino on August 9, airing on ESPN+. The undefeated squad, 11-0 with a 125-11 run differential, is drawing big hometown pride as they chase a trip to Williamsport.
