• Pinal County responds to attempt to dismiss county attorney's lawsuit (kvoa.com) — Pinal County officials in Florence are pushing ahead with their lawsuit challenging County Attorney Brad Miller’s immigration enforcement agreement, arguing he exceeded his legal authority. A judge has set a public hearing for May 15 at the courthouse on North Pinal Street, and Miller has agreed to limit his work with federal immigration agents while the case proceeds. 
• SRP Brings 55 MW Solar Project Online (inbusinessphx.com) — A new 55-megawatt SRP solar facility and research center is now operating in Florence, providing enough power for about 11,000 Arizona homes. The Copper Crossing Energy and Research Center is also testing advanced panels, trackers, inverters, and sky-camera forecasting tools that could shape future energy reliability and investment around Florence.
