The plan boosts public safety, infrastructure, and staffing, adds nearly 30 full-time positions, and directs major capital funds to water, streets, and safety projects. Employees also receive cost-of-living and potential merit increases to address rising expenses.

2. Lupe Conchas returns to city council (glendalestar.com) — Cactus District residents once again have Jose “Lupe” Conchas Jr. representing them on the Glendale City Council after a Maricopa County Superior Court ruling voided his removal. The court found the council exceeded its authority when it disqualified him over SRP Board per diem payments. Conchas says he’ll focus on affordability, public safety, infrastructure, and transparent, ethical leadership for Glendale.

Glendale discovers 1985 time capsule during City Hall renovation (azfamily.com) — Glendale just unearthed a 1985 time capsule during City Hall renovations and is now preparing a new one to capture today’s city life. Items range from old phone books and school letters to Arizona Cardinals memorabilia and a Taylor Swift tour memento. Residents are invited to celebrate Saturday evening at Murphy Park with music, activities, and food.

National Western Center announces new CEO (denvergazette.com) — A new CEO has been named for Denver’s National Western Center, and she brings recent experience from Glendale’s Desert Diamond Arena, formerly Gila River Arena. Kate Girotti’s success boosting revenue there is highlighted as she prepares to lead and program the large Colorado venue campus.
