The Guadalupe Ice Boys claimed the championship after edging the Guadalupe Yaquis in the semifinal and then defeating the Guadalupe Chiefs, bringing first place and bragging rights back to town.
• Tempe police report describes violent Phoenix traffic stop (tucson.com) — A Tempe police report describes a violent Phoenix traffic stop where two men allegedly assaulted a driver and passenger, threatened to shoot the driver, and then watched him flee in his car. After the vehicle overheated near Priest and Baseline, the driver walked to a relative's home in Guadalupe, tying this disturbing case back to the community.
