• Salt River's Southwest Baseball Tournament Brings the Heat (srpmic-nsn.gov) — Guadalupe baseball teams dominated this year's Southwest Baseball Tournament hosted in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, with the Ice Boys and Chiefs battling for the title. The Guadalupe Ice Boys claimed the championship after edging the Guadalupe Yaquis in the semifinal and then defeating the Guadalupe Chiefs, bringing first place and bragging rights back to town. 
• Tempe police report describes violent Phoenix traffic stop (tucson.com) — A Tempe police report describes a violent Phoenix traffic stop where two men allegedly assaulted a driver and passenger, threatened to shoot the driver, and then watched him flee in his car. After the vehicle overheated near Priest and Baseline, the driver walked to a relative's home in Guadalupe, tying this disturbing case back to the community.
