Kingman Prepares for Road Closures Ahead of Route 66 Street Drags Event Starting October 5 (thebee.news) — Expect major traffic changes in central Kingman starting Monday, October 5, as Andy Devine Avenue, Kingman Avenue, and several connecting streets close in phases for the Route 66 Street Drags. Detours will route drivers around Harrison, Motor, Airfield, and Fairgrounds, with some sidewalks also closed, and all roads scheduled to fully reopen by October 14.

Bob Stump Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center VA Northern Arizona health care (va.gov) — Veterans in Kingman can access a wide range of VA Northern Arizona services— from primary care, mental health, dental, and emergency care to homelessness support—through the Kingman CBOC and the main Bob Stump VA Medical Center. The guide explains transportation help, caregiver support, telehealth, women’s health, and specialized programs like MOVE! weight management and vocational rehabilitation, all aimed at making care easier to reach locally.
   

3. Mohave College Corporate Ed offers CPR/BLS certification courses (thestandardnewspaper.online) — Kingman residents can earn CPR and Basic Life Support certification this year through Mohave College Corporate Education, with classes offered at the Beale Street Center and the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center. Sessions run on multiple dates from October through May, cost $75 with discounts for students, staff, and business groups, and cover hands-on lifesaving skills for adults, children, and infants.
   

4. Kingman resident to be inducted into Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame (thestandardnewspaper.online) — A longtime Navy veteran who retired to Kingman is being honored with induction into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame later this month, thanks largely to his volunteer work with the Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council and Kingman Elks Lodge. He’s logged thousands of miles driving local veterans to appointments and helping with community events, and says Kingman has become the perfect place for his retirement and service.
