• IJSBA Announces New Name for World Finals Venue, Proposes Awards Changes (watercraftjournal.com) — Lake Havasu City will again host the 2026 Short Block Technologies World Finals in October, now at the newly renamed Red Rock Waterside on Beachcomber Boulevard. Organizers are asking racers to respect the new owners' rules and are considering moving awards ceremonies, including a new London Bridge closing event, and want community and participant feedback before finalizing plans.
   

• 2 women suffer serious burns after boat explosion on Lake Havasu (azfamily.com) — Two women were seriously burned when a 28-foot boat exploded on Lake Havasu near the Nautical Beachfront Resort in Lake Havasu City, with deputies from two counties helping pull victims from the burning vessel. Mohave County crews then guided the boat away from nearby craft while battling the fire, and the third person's condition has not yet been released.
   

• You can't drive to Arizona's Topock Gorge, and that's exactly why it's worth it (wheninyourstate.com) — A stretch of the Colorado River between Needles and Lake Havasu City offers a roadless escape through Topock Gorge, where visitors can only explore by boat.
