2. How volunteers are helping Oro Valley police and building community (kgun9.com) — Oro Valley residents are being asked to step up as Citizen Volunteer Assistants, helping the local police department with traffic control, home checks, and major community events. The long-running CVAP program now has over 60 volunteers whose 2025 hours saved the town an estimated half-million dollars, while giving retirees and other locals a meaningful way to stay connected and support public safety.

3. Meet Maeve, this sweet survivor with the biggest heart. (nextdoor.com) — A rescued cat named Maeve is currently being fostered in Oro Valley and is ready for adoption into a loving forever home. Once a shy, injured stray from a feral colony, she’s now affectionate, playful, and especially fond of cat-friendly dogs. Local residents can apply online if they’re looking for a gentle, resilient companion.

4. June/July 2026 in the Gallery with Xavier Valenzuela (artistsandmakersstudios.com) — An upcoming exhibit at Artists & Makers Studios in Steam Pump Village will bring Mexican artist Xavier Valenzuela’s colorful “El hijo del pueblo” series to Oro Valley from May 22 through July 31. Residents can visit the gallery on North Oracle Road during posted hours or drop by the June 6 opening reception to meet the work up close in a neighborhood setting.

Traffic task force stops 352 drivers in midtown Tucson (kvoa.com) — Oro Valley Police officers joined a regional task force that stopped 352 drivers during a recent traffic safety operation in midtown Tucson. Working with multiple agencies, they issued hundreds of citations, impounded four vehicles, and made three arrests as part of an ongoing push to reduce serious crashes across the region.
