UMOM approved for Salamanca Square housing complex in Phoenix (ktar.com) — Phoenix families struggling with housing costs could see relief as UMOM New Day Centers moves forward with Salamanca Square, a 192-unit affordable complex on 39th Avenue. In partnership with the Alhambra School District, the project will serve lower-income families, add one- to four-bedroom apartments, and generate new revenue for local schools when construction begins this fall.

SAFE Alert issued for 72-year-old Phoenix woman (ktar.com) — Authorities have issued a SAFE Alert for 72-year-old Yolanda Garcia, last seen Saturday morning near Durango Street and 99th Avenue and possibly later in Avondale. Phoenix residents are urged to watch for her, as she has a condition that can leave her disoriented, and to contact Phoenix Police Missing Persons with any information to help bring her home safely.
3. Arizona State University wins $2 million to test water reuse technology for chip factories (wheninyourstate.com) — New federal funding for ASU's water-reuse research could directly affect how TSMC's massive Phoenix chip campus uses and recycles water, easing pressure on the city's supplies. Researchers will test advanced treatment systems under factory-like conditions in Tempe, aiming to push recycling rates higher as Phoenix fabs expand and Arizona faces looming Colorado River cutbacks.
4. 50,000 Desert Plants Thrive at Phoenix's Desert Botanical Garden (tomorrowsworldtoday.com) — Phoenix's Desert Botanical Garden offers residents a close-up look at more than 50,000 desert plants thriving right in the heart of the city.
