Meghan McCain Joining 'The View'

The daughter of Arizona Senator John McCain, and self described 'Blonde Republican' will take the chair vacated by Jedediah Bila last week.

Meghan McCain was not unemployed for long. The daughter of Arizona senator and former Republican presidential nominee John McCain will be joining The View as early as next week.

While she doesn't like to buttonhole herself, McCain will be taking over the seat vacated by conservative Jedediah Bila who announced last week that she was leaving the show.

It was also last week that McCain announced that she was leaving Fox News where she was a co-host of Outnumbered. At the time, she said that she was "leaving to focus on other things."

A self-described "Blonde Republican," McCain leans to the left on social issues. Still, it's expected that she will be a conservative voice when held up against her co-hosts including Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.

The show has had several conservative co-hosts since Elisabeth Hasselback left the show four years ago.

McCain, who describes herself as an Arizonan and a New Yorker, worked for The Daily Beast and MSNBC before joining Fox.

The news was first reported Wednesday by Variety.
