Everyone is invited to join the 2021 Outstanding Young Men/Young Women (OYMYW) of the Year virtual event to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of students and their positive contributions to society.

Eighteen students that live in Phoenix or attend Phoenix schools have been selected from dozens of applicants as the 2021 OYMYW of the year and will be recognized at an upcoming virtual program at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6.

Each district winner will receive $500 and is eligible to become the citywide winner. The two overall winners will be awarded an additional $1,500.

Each student applied for the award by submitting a nomination form, essay, recommendation letter, and also took part in selection interviews.
