1. Pavement preservation work began Sept. 7 (dcourier.com) — Street maintenance is underway on several key Prescott roads, including Madison Avenue, Miller Valley Road, and North Walnut Street between Whipple and Miller Valley, and will continue into October. Expect flaggers, lane and driveway restrictions, rougher surfaces, and early trash pickup, but property access will be maintained. Residents can call the project hotline for up-to-date information on impacts.
   

2. Prescotts mile-high streets have 700 historic buildings and a rodeo older than Arizona itself (wheninyourstate.com) — Prescott's mile-high setting, historic downtown, and forested surroundings offer locals and visitors lakes, trails, and museums right in their backyard. From Watson Lake and Thumb Butte to Sharlot Hall Museum and the World's Oldest Rodeo, the city's history and outdoor culture shape year-round experiences, including art walks, holiday lights, and its Christmas City traditions.
   

3. Arizona is getting older and the change is reshaping communities - Sun City West Independent (yourvalley.net) — Prescott is highlighted as one of Arizona's fastest-aging communities, with about 40% of residents now 65 or older, reshaping local needs for health care, housing, and transportation. The piece explains how rising housing costs, caregiver shortages, and seniors working longer are changing daily life across the state. It urges communities like Prescott to plan now for accessible homes, services, and jobs that support older adults.
   

4. One injured in PV Burger King crash (dcourier.com) — A car crashed into the dining room of the Highway 69 Burger King in Prescott Valley, sending one patron to the hospital with minor injuries and forcing the restaurant to operate drive-thru only for several weeks. Prescott readers may note the same family company also runs a local Burger King. Police say the driver accidentally accelerated into the building; no arrests were made.
