• Town Sales Tax Isn't Active Yet, So Ask for a Refund (santanvalley.com) — If you see a separate town sales tax on San Tan Valley receipts right now, you’re entitled to ask the business for a refund because the town’s 2.25% tax isn’t active yet. Residents still legally owe only the 6.7% state-and-county rate until Arizona’s revenue department switches on the town tax, likely in October, when in-town purchases will rise to 8.95%. 
• In-N-Out Burger ingredients — What Quietly Changed on the Menu (koreadaily.com) — San Tan Valley is getting a new In-N-Out Burger as the chain expands, and it will arrive with some quiet but important ingredient changes already in place. Buns no longer contain sesame flour, salt packets now use sea salt, ketchup is made with real sugar, and strawberry shakes and pink lemonade have been reformulated without artificial colors.
