Laguna Elementary parents unite to fight school closure (abc15.com) — Families at Laguna Elementary in Scottsdale are mobilizing as the Scottsdale Unified School District weighs three options that could close Laguna and other north Scottsdale campuses due to declining enrollment. Parents are organizing turnout for a Sept. 22 public hearing at Desert Mountain High School and the October board vote, hoping a strong, respectful presence will keep their 40-year-old neighborhood school open.
2. Driver arrested in Scottsdale crash that killed his 21-year-old passenger (abc15.com) — A 21-year-old passenger died after a single-vehicle crash early Sunday at Drinkwater Boulevard and Civic Center Plaza in downtown Scottsdale, and the driver has been arrested on a manslaughter charge. Police say the car left the roadway and hit a utility pole, and they believe speed and alcohol were factors while they await lab results and complete their investigation.
3. Toyota Donates Last-Ever GR Supra MkV Final Edition to Benefit Reach Out WorldWide at Barrett-Jackson 2027 Scottsdale Auction (tprm.com) — Scottsdale car fans can look ahead to January 2027, when Barrett-Jackson will auction the last-ever Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition at WestWorld of Scottsdale to benefit disaster-relief nonprofit Reach Out WorldWide. The car, signed by Akio Toyoda and packed with performance upgrades, will be previewed at upcoming Barrett-Jackson events, with bidding registration and ticket information already available online.
4.
