Legal battle over Axon's Scottsdale site continues (yourvalley.net) — A political action committee is continuing its legal fight against state legislation that cleared the way for Axon's massive headquarters campus, including 600 apartments and 600 condos, in north Scottsdale near Hayden Road and Loop 101. The group has appealed a Maricopa County judge's ruling upholding the so‑called "Axon Bill," arguing it's an unconstitutional special-interest law.
2. Scottsdale invites residents to help shape Eldorado Park's next chapter (yourvalley.net) — Scottsdale is planning major recreational upgrades at Eldorado Park and wants residents' input at a public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Eldorado Community Center. With $780,000 already budgeted for design, the city is considering improvements to playgrounds, shade, skate and pump facilities, restrooms, ramadas, and other aging amenities, and will use community feedback to set priorities.
3. Scottsdale Art Week tickets go on sale for 2027 fair (arizonadigitalfreepress.com) — Scottsdale art lovers can already secure tickets for the third Scottsdale Art Week, coming March 18–21, 2027, to WestWorld of Scottsdale. Organizers promise international galleries, large-scale installations, and cultural programming, building on last year's strong attendance and growing reputation. Early events include a First Look and Opening Night benefiting Phoenix Art Museum.
4. Gilbert man turns ALS diagnosis into mission through gaming (abc15.com) — An East Valley gamer living with ALS is turning his Twitch channel, GAMINGwithALS, into a platform to raise awareness and funds ahead of the Scottsdale Walk ALS on Nov. 7 at Salt River Fields. His streams share daily life with the disease while rallying donations through ALS Arizona, already surpassing a $10,000 goal and engaging younger audiences.
5. Scottsdale, Arizona: Allison Feldman Murder Case Revisited on 20/20 (theunionstar.com) — A high-profile 2015 Scottsdale murder case is back in the spotlight as ABC's 20/20 revisits how advanced DNA technology finally identified a suspect years after the crime. The episode and companion podcast walk viewers through the investigation, the cold-case years, and the forensic genealogy breakthrough that helped Scottsdale authorities move the case forward.
