Stay up to date on everything new in Scottsdale with Patch's daily newsletter.

Morning, neighbors! It's me again, Geoff Campbell, your host of the Scottsdale Daily.
First, today's weather:
A warming trend: Plenty of sun today with a high of 86, and a low of 57.
Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- Najib "Jubi" Monsif, a 20-year-old man with autism, was last seen in his Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Via Linda neighborhood three weeks ago, according to a report on KPNX. The search efforts have included both the Scottsdale Police Department and the Maricopa Sheriff's Department. Family and friends have also worked tirelessly to find the young man. "I'm asking everyone to help find our angel," Najib Monsif Sr., Jubi's dad, said when the search began. If you have seen or heard something about this case that will aid the authorities in finding Jubi, please get in touch with the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000. (12news.com KPNX)
- Scottsdale brush and bulk trash pickup is behind schedule due to recent weather causing detritus, fewer employees to do the work, and citizens anxious to clean up their yards and homes. A City press release goes on to say, "The city is doing everything it can to get materials picked up as soon as possible." The goal is to make sidewalks clear before Halloween trick-or-treaters take to the neighborhood in search of candy. Things should be back on track in November; in the meantime, according to the release, "Crews will be picking up curbside only in Area 2 the week of Oct. 11, Area 3 the week of Oct. 18, and Area 4 the week of Oct. 25." Regular trash and recycle roots are not affected. For more, go to ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search "brush and bulk." (Press Release Desk)
- The bat-wielding attacker at the Gateway Trailhead Monday was high on acid and meth, according to a KNPX report. Wesley Abeita, 23, arrested Tuesday by SPD, vandalized several cars, and attached a woman in her car at the trailhead parking lot. The report claims that Abeita told police that he was on a "bad trip" and that the "devil got in his head." He was booked for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, vehicle burglary, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage. The human victim of the attack, an older woman, received "severe fractures to the left side of her face, two broken bones in her leg and a severe concussion," according to the report.
