• Monitoring the air in eastern Santa Cruz County (patagoniaregionaltimes.org) — Air-quality monitoring around Sonoita is ramping up as the South32 Hermosa mine moves toward full operation, and residents now have several ways to track local conditions. In addition to state regulatory oversight and company-run stations, the AirSMART community sensor network already includes two monitors in Sonoita, offering real-time particulate data that can help locals watch for long-term trends and potential mining-related changes.
