• Arizona State Cheerleader Charged Months After Bodycam Footage Showed Her Being Punched & Thrown To Ground By Cop (newsbreak.com) — A Tempe arrest involving Arizona State University senior and cheerleader Eryn Bonner is now moving forward in Tempe City Court, where she faces two misdemeanor charges after a July incident on Mill Avenue. Bodycam and viral video show an officer pushing and punching her, sparking public concern about police force. Prosecutors dropped potential felonies, but city officials are pursuing lesser counts that her attorney vows to fight.

• Mansour Criticized Over Nursing School Violations, $11.4 Million Settlement (azfreenews.com) — Tempe readers may recognize Arizona College's local nursing program, which was placed on probation in 2022 but later restored to full approval, as it now features in attacks on Democratic treasurer candidate Nick Mansour. Republican Elijah Norton and the state GOP are highlighting the Tempe program's past violations, student lawsuits elsewhere, and a separate corporate Medicare settlement to question Mansour's business record. Mansour says the school corrected problems and kept students informed.
