• Border wall construction company's Tempe office reports criminal damage over broken windows (kjzz.org) — Tempe police are investigating criminal damage at Fisher Industries' local office after several windows were broken early Friday morning. The company, a federal border wall contractor, was the focus of a protest call online following the removal of a long-occupied "grandmother tree" near the border, though investigators have not publicly linked the two incidents.
   

• Tempe's got a talent, TV show confirms (tempenews.com) — A local ASU student magician who just reached the finals of "America's Got Talent" is headlining a show at the Tempe Improv on October 18, giving Tempe fans a chance to see his act live. He's balancing sudden national exposure with finishing his senior year on campus, and says Tempe and ASU have been central to his growth as both a performer and student.
   

• Cardae Mack breakout effort highlights Arizona State's win over Hawaii (thesportsanimal.com) — Arizona State's home win in Tempe over Hawaii, powered by freshman running back Cardae Mack's 154 rushing yards and two touchdowns, gave Sun Devils fans something to cheer about. The 30-12 victory also showcased a stronger defensive effort after last week's lopsided loss in Tempe to Baylor, with ASU controlling the ground game and limiting Hawaii's rushing attack.
