Tempe Union parents question district amid voyeurism charges (fresnobee.com) — Tempe Union parents are pressing district leaders for accountability and transparency after a security officer was accused of secretly recording girls changing at Corona del Sol High School in south Tempe. Families questioned why cameras were installed in dance rooms, how long they were operating, and why parents weren't fully informed. Tempe police now believe there may be more victims than initially identified. 
2. Driver sought after hit-and-run near Phoenix-Tempe border left woman seriously hurt (azfamily.com) — A woman is in critical condition after a late-night hit-and-run near Baseline Road and Calle Los Cerros Drive along the Phoenix–Tempe border, according to Tempe police. Investigators say she was crossing against a green light when a driver hit her and fled. Officers have not released any description of the driver or vehicle and are still searching for the suspect.
3. World of Illumination bringing new Zombie Zoo drive-thru light show to Tempe (ktar.com) — Tempe families can plan ahead for the new Zombie Zoo drive-thru light show at Tempe Diablo Stadium, running nightly from Sept. 30 through Nov. 1. You'll drive past glowing habitats, a jack-o'-lantern tunnel and a dancing graveyard, with tickets sold per car and discounted presales available through Sept. 13.
4. A TV episode in 1 minute? ASU students to learn about 'microdramas' (fresnobee.com) — ASU film students in Tempe will soon be able to dive into a new seminar on ultra-short "microdrama" series designed for phones, created in partnership with vertical-video platform ReelShort. The class explores writing, AI-supported production and industry trends, and top students may earn a pathway to a paid junior screenwriting contract.
5. 'Thinking of you': Sun Devil Hockey posts message for hospitalized teammate (azfamily.com) — In Tempe, the ASU Sun Devil hockey community is rallying around defenseman Matthew Mayich, who remains in a coma after collapsing during an outdoor team workout on August 20. Family and their attorney say medical consensus points to heat exhaustion after a grueling session in hot, humid conditions. They're now calling for an independent investigation separate from the university's review.
