Man Killed In Tucson After Allegedly Trespassing, Showing Gun
Stevan McKinney died of gunshot wounds in a backyard after reportedly being shot by the person responsible for the property.
TUCSON, AZ —A man was was shot to death Sunday night in a Tucson backyard after he allegedly was trespassing and brandished a weapon, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The shooter was responsible for the property and no suspects are outstanding, according to police.
Stevan McKinney, 51, was found by officers with signs of gunshot trauma in the yard of a residence in the 3500 block of E. Flower St. Officers said they utilized their Individual First Aid Kits (IFAK) and Tucson Fire personnel also continued lifesaving efforts, but McKinney died at the scene.

According to police, just before 9:30 p.m., officers from the Operations Division Midtown were dispatched to the scene after reports of a fight.
Though the investigation continues, detectives with the Homicide Unit learned that the victim was allegedly trespassing in the backyard of a residence along with other individuals.

The group reportedly was asked to leave, and refused. A confrontation ensued. During the confrontation, McKinney brandished a firearm, according to the investigation.
At that point, one of the parties responsible for the property, who also was armed with a handgun, fired the weapon and struck McKinney.
Police did not release the name of the shooter or announce if any charges had been filed or arrests made. Authorities did not say if a firearm had been found on McKinney.
A spokesperson for the Tucson Police Department said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
