• Man Killed In Midtown Tucson Crash Identified By Police (patch.com) — A 57-year-old man has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle collision at Grant Road and Rosemont Boulevard in midtown Tucson, and police are still investigating whether a red light was run or signals malfunctioned. The crash, which also injured three others, pushed Tucson's 2026 traffic death toll to 56, already higher than at this time last year. Authorities are asking Tucson residents with information to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.

• New building to help JTED teach AI-proof skills (kgun9.com) — Pima JTED in Tucson is getting a new workforce training building to expand high-demand, hands-on programs like welding, EMT, cosmetology, and industrial trades that are less likely to be replaced by AI. Backed by $3 million in federal funding, the project will open more seats for local teens and better connect them with well-paying, in-demand careers.

• Flinn-Brown Fellows recognized for leadership efforts across Arizona (flinn.org) — Tucson leaders are being recognized statewide for tackling homelessness and expanding local job pathways. Flinn-Brown Fellow Julie Katsel used her network to unite Pima County and Tucson officials around homelessness coordination, while Tucson native Erica Yngve is growing the sewn-goods industry and workforce training. Other honorees from across Arizona round out this year's Flinn-Brown leadership awards.
