No Sale

The declaration makes an opening statement

Defining the unalienable rights of humanity

What comes next serves as an indictment

It goes on to explicate these truth's enemy

Paradoxically this is also a self-accusation

Perhaps half of signers lived as enslavers

They missed the irony in this presentation

As they held themselves as liberty's saviors

We hear each day our freedom is threatened

By terrorists abroad and even those at home

Building high walls has long been mentioned

Keep others from taking the freedom we own

We can take a hint from the founding signers

And look for the external enemy here within

Every day, we can see thousands of reminders

About how we surrender our freedom as given

We are buried in the consumerist exploitation

Where we are seduced our freedom to surrender

We're awash in a sea of slavery inducing seduction

So we can no longer see that we're always going under

We've been taught to desire and buy what we don't need

And we do so with money we do not realistically possess

We've become enslaved to the cash churners insatiable greed

To the tune of a thirteen trillion dollar debt we are in a distress

Every day is independence day

When we take back our authority

And live our lives in our own way

With less buying and more liberty
