Police Identify Man Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting
The man was holding up a check-cashing store, police say.
TUCSON, AZ — Tucson police on Wednesday released the identity of the armed robbery suspect shot and killed by Tuscon police Monday around 9 a.m. Mark Powell, 39, died at the hospital after holding up a check-cashing store, according to Tucson.com.
Police responded Monday to the 800 block of East Ft. Lowell, closing the road between North First and North Park avenues. Police said the officers were "ok," on Twitter after the shooting.
Tucson police Sgt. Pete Dugan told The Arizona Daily Star a suspect was shot, suffered serious injuries and was sent to a hospital.

The shooting at Ace Cash Express, which police say Powell was holding up, is under investigation. All officer-involved shootings are investigated as a part of protocol.
Both the department's Office of Professional Standards and Critical Incident Review Board are evaluating the police actions.
