• Newport man killed in boating accident on Bald Knob Lake, authorities say (arkansasonline.com) — A Newport man died in a recent boating accident on Bald Knob Lake, where local deputies and state wildlife officers spent about 20 hours searching before recovering his body. Authorities found his damaged boat and clothing in the water and are treating the case as a fatal boating accident, with the medical examiner determining the official cause of death.
