• BHS competes in 'Friday Night 5G Lights' (guardonline.com) — Batesville High School has just secured $5,000 from T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition, money that can support athletic gear, facility upgrades, and other student needs. Starting Oct. 8, Batesville residents can vote daily online to help BHS advance toward much larger prizes, including a possible $1 million football field transformation. 
• Commercial vehicle crash disrupts Highway 25 traffic (kait8.com) — A commercial vehicle crash early this morning has blocked the westbound lane of Highway 25 just north of Moorefield, affecting drivers heading into Batesville. ARDOT suggests using Highway 223 to connect to Highway 69 as an alternate route, so plan extra time and consider the detour if you’re traveling toward town today.
• Students receive Alpha Lambda Delta awards (guardonline.com) — A Batesville native, Suzanna Bates, has earned a $2,000 Alpha Lambda Delta graduate fellowship after graduating from Lyon College and preparing for social work studies at Arkansas State. Alongside fellow Lyon student Brooklyn Penn, she’s being recognized for strong academics, leadership, and community service that includes local literacy work and mentoring.
