Conway hits Phase Three water curtailment halting lawn, landscape irrigation (kark.com) — Starting Monday, Conway residents are being asked to completely stop lawn and landscape irrigation as Conway Corp moves into Phase Three of its drought curtailment plan. Neighbors share worries about dying plants and fairness for big water users, while officials stress that every gallon saved helps protect the city’s strained water supply.
   

2. University of Central Arkansas trustees approve $5.3 million campus network overhaul (arkansasonline.com) — The University of Central Arkansas in Conway has approved a $5.3 million contract to boost campus internet bandwidth by 150% and add AI-powered reliability tools over the next four years. Funded without new bonds, the upgrade aims to improve online learning, research, and everyday connectivity for students and faculty across classrooms and residence halls.
   

3. Arkansas becomes third state to run Rapid DNA at jail booking stations (mhobserver.com) — Rapid DNA testing will soon begin at the Faulkner County Detention Center in Conway, allowing investigators to match arrestees’ DNA to crime-scene evidence in about 90 minutes. Arkansas is only the third state to use this technology at jail booking, with strict training and confidentiality rules in place. Federal and state funding covered the new equipment and launch.
   

4. Hundreds stepping up to help Arkansas tornado victims through Southern Baptist organizations (kark.com) — Central Arkansas tornado relief efforts are drawing volunteers and supplies to Little Rock, but displaced residents say they can’t find hotel rooms in Conway or nearby cities. Southern Baptist groups are distributing food, water, and toiletries while also offering spiritual support. One family now couch-surfing with friends describes needing both basic necessities and peace as recovery continues.
