Authorities haven't yet detailed lane closures, outage impacts, or how long disruptions may last, so commuters are encouraged to watch for updates and follow on‑scene instructions.

Increased pay for Fort Smith firefighters vital for retention, chief says (rivervalleydemocratgazette.com) — Fort Smith's fire chief is urging the city's Board of Directors to boost a proposed 6.5% firefighter raise to 14%, warning that low pay is driving trained personnel to better‑paying Arkansas cities. Directors debated using general‑fund money and cutting other expenses, signaling that firefighter compensation will be a major issue in the 2027 city budget that affects emergency services citywide.
