• Harrison becomes Arkansas's newest Certified Local Government community (kark.com) — Harrison has just become Arkansas’s 22nd Certified Local Government community, unlocking new federal grants, training, and preservation support for the city. Local leaders created a historic district commission and worked with Main Street Harrison and state preservation officials to secure the designation, which is expected to benefit the Courthouse Square Historic District and support long-term economic development downtown.
   

• Dates Announced for Arkansas Hot Air Balloon State Championships (komc.com) — Harrison will host the Arkansas Hot Air Balloon State Championship September 11–13, bringing visitors and family-friendly activities to town. Organizers are planning petting zoo attractions, tethered balloon rides, and other entertainment that boost Boone County tourism and reinforce Harrison’s growing reputation as a regional destination for outdoor and aviation-themed events.
