1. $150K Bond Set After Domestic Disturbance Leads to High-Speed Chase and Felony Charges (jonesbororightnow.com) — Jonesboro police responded to a Mother’s Day domestic disturbance on Cartwright Street that led to a high-speed chase and a long list of felony and misdemeanor charges. A judge set a $150,000 bond, ordered no contact with the victim, and required a GPS ankle monitor if the suspect is released, with his next court date set for June 26.
   

2. Two Arrested in Jonesboro After Police Encounter Uncovers Weapons and Drugs (jonesbororightnow.com) — Jonesboro police arrested two men Saturday night after a roadside encounter on Warren Street led officers to seize weapons and a backpack containing fentanyl, meth, and drug paraphernalia. One suspect now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges with a $100,000 bond, while the other is held on an existing felony warrant for first-degree terroristic threatening.
   

3. Aggie Road to Airport Road connector gets environmental nod (talkbusiness.net) — Jonesboro drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians can expect a new connector road between Aggie Road and Airport Road now that federal officials found no significant environmental impact. The city and Arkansas State University are partnering with ARDOT on the $10–15 million project, which will add roundabouts, sidewalks, a shared-use path, and drainage upgrades to improve safety and connectivity.
   

4. Students compete in National Student Advertising Competition (stuttgartdailyleader.com) — Arkansas State University students from Jonesboro recently traveled to Dallas to pitch an NFL-focused advertising campaign in the National Student Advertising Competition and came home with the Jeanie Ruedy Spirit Award. The experience gave A-State graphic design students hands-on professional practice, and their professor hopes it inspires more Jonesboro-based students from all majors to join future NSAC teams.
   

5. A-State recognizes graduates during two ceremonies (stuttgartdailyleader.com) — Arkansas State University in Jonesboro celebrated the class of 2026 with two commencement ceremonies at First National Bank Arena, awarding more than 2,500 degrees. Graduates heard encouraging messages from student speakers, and longtime staff member Jo Ann Nalley of Jonesboro received an honorary Doctor of Public Service for her decades of work in childhood services.
