Officials say they expect more applications will start arriving closer to the Sept. 18 submission deadline.

LITTLE ROCK, AR — Arkansas has its first license application for a medical marijuana dispensary.

Scott Hardin, spokesman for the state Department of Finance and Administration, told The Associated Press Friday that the application was submitted this week. Hardin previously said officials expect more applications will trickle in as the Sept. 18 submission deadline appraches.

According to state health officials, there were 670 completed and approved applications as of Friday morning from people seeking to use medical pot. ID cards will be issued about 30 days before medical marijuana is available for legal purchase in the state.
