Little Rock School District approves new high school zoning map ahead of West High opening (katv.com) — Little Rock families will see new high school attendance zones after the LRSD board approved "Map 3.5," shifting neighborhoods like John Barrow, River Ridge, and Robinwood among Central, Southwest, and the new West High. The board also adopted a choice policy letting students attend a different high school and stay there through graduation, while broader elementary and middle school boundary changes will come later.
   

2. VIDEO: 100 MPH Arkansas Pursuit Ends With Driver Ejected From Overturning Car (neareport.com) — A high-speed Arkansas State Police pursuit raced through Little Rock on I‑630 and Cantrell Road before a trooper used a tactical maneuver that flipped the fleeing car and ejected the driver. The July 31 chase, which reached over 100 mph and damaged property near Club 1836, ended with Little Rock officers helping secure the scene and the suspect hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
   

3. Pulaski County restaurant inspections: Milk and sushi stored at wrong temperatures; chemicals and raw eggs stored next to food items (arkansasonline.com) — Recent Arkansas Department of Health inspections turned up a range of food-safety issues at numerous Pulaski County restaurants, including many in Little Rock, from improper food temperatures to missing health policies and handwashing supplies. Several Little Rock spots like IHOP, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Little China had violations corrected on site, while others were cited for lacking certified food protection managers or current permits. A handful of Little Rock establishments had clean reports.
   

4. Arkansas High School Football Scoreboard: Week 0 (fox16.com) — High school football is back across Arkansas, with Week 0 scores rolling in from rivalries like Bryant–Benton and Sheridan–White Hall. Little Rock fans can track games featuring Little Rock Central and Parkview while following statewide coverage on Fearless Friday and FearlessFriday.com throughout the season.
   

5. 'We need help': Arkansas moms beg governor, DHS amid years-long wait for important waiver (thv11.com) — Families whose children receive treatment at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock say years-long waits for the state's CES waiver are keeping their kids from living safely at home and in their communities. Moms from Morrilton, Alexander, and elsewhere are publicly pleading with Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and DHS to speed up access, while state officials say they're following waitlist rules and exploring improvements.
