Little Rock, Kapor Center to develop startup businesses (arkansasonline.com) — Little Rock is launching a multi-year partnership with the Kapor Center to support "gap-closing" startups tackling local challenges like housing, health care, education, and workforce development. As part of the PRIME Alliance cohort, the city will connect founders with officials to develop innovations aimed at improving everyday life for residents.
   

2. Pipe break in North Little Rock repaired; customers may see brief discoloration in tap water (nwaonline.com) — If you live in Little Rock's Heights neighborhood, you might briefly see rusty-looking tap water after a North Little Rock water main break, but officials say it's harmless and should clear after running the tap. Central Arkansas Water repaired the 12-inch pipe overnight, and pressure changes may temporarily stir up mineral deposits in interconnected lines.
   

3. 'Rumors of Peace': A Q&A with writer Hope Coulter ahead of Six Bridges Book Festival (arktimes.com) — Downtown Little Rock will host the free Six Bridges Book Festival Sept. 27–Oct. 4, and local writer Hope Coulter will appear to discuss her new story collection, "Rumors of Peace." She talks about her Arkansas roots, Southern settings, and how retirement has reshaped her writing life, giving Little Rock readers a reason to explore homegrown literary talent.
   

4. CBHHS Research Symposium highlights research and collaboration across college (ualr.edu) — Faculty and graduate students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's College of Business, Health, and Human Services recently shared new research on issues affecting Arkansans, from maternal health disparities to AI, homelessness, and school discipline. The Sept. 17–18 symposium encouraged collaboration across departments and highlighted how local scholarship can inform community wellbeing and workforce needs.
   

5. Arkansas health officials launch 'Claim Your Care' hotline to connect moms-to-be with help (katv.com) — From Little Rock, state health officials have launched the new Claim Your Care hotline to connect Arkansas moms-to-be with prenatal and women's health services, regardless of insurance status. Little Rock residents can call for help finding local health units, scheduling appointments, and accessing free or low-cost testing, WIC support, and family planning resources.
