Pulaski County: County Nears 90 Percent Solar Power With Public Service Commission Approval

The Arkansas Public Service Commission approved Pulaski Countyβs application to build a net-metering facility in excess of 1,000 kilowatts. The approval was made possible through the Arkansas Renewable Energy Development Act of 2001.
βWe are very excited to move forward with our solar project. Weβve been working diligently for the past six years to see it come to fruition. In combination with our first solar array, located near the county jail, the county willΒ near 90 percent solar-powered once online,β said PulaskiΒ County Judge Barry Hyde.

The solar array will be constructed in the Little Rock Port Authority on Zeuber Road. As stated in the order, by County AttorneyΒ Adam Fogleman,Β βthe project will provide multiple benefits including distribution system, environmental, public policy and economic benefits.β
